What is the purpose of Sandlot Baseball?
We fully believe in the TOTAL Development of each player, thus this approach is designed to give both players and the parents the best environment for learning and growth together. Not only do our players learn about every aspect of the game of baseball, we also instill very important characteristics in our players that we fill will help them throughout life long after baseball is over for them. These such characteristics are discipline, accountability, integrity, and work ethic.
What sets us apart from other organizations?
It's not so much about what we do better than other organizations, but more about the level of teaching and benefits we offer to our players and parents that we feel is the best around. We consider our whole coaching staff to be some of the most knowledgeable in the Midwest who all have unique abilities to teach the game of baseball at an advanced level to players of all ages. We offer a large array of benefits that other organizations don't, while also providing one of the most robust and cost effective programs around.
What are your typical roster sizes?
We try to keep Youth rosters at 10-12 players. High School rosters usually range from 14-16 depending on the ratio of position players vs. PO's (pitcher only). We want to ensure we have the most flexible rosters while allowing ample playing/development time for all players.
How do you locate players for your teams?
We do this is multiple ways. For the most part we fill our teams through word of mouth or personal referrals. We also also hold tryouts each fall/winter though just a few as we have very low turnover so we usually aren't trying to fill a lot of spots. If you or someone you know is looking for a new home in the spring/summer please feel free to click on the email staff link throughout the site or click on the prospective player tab under about us at the top of the website.
